if its had a pressure test and didnt show anything up,
but loses water when running then it could be the head gasket blown between cylinder and water jacket,
get garage to do a sniff test on it,
its a small cylinder that goes over the rad cap,
filled with liquid, it changes colour if theres gases in it from the combustion chambers,
thats the way to tell for certain

Is it a V6? I know these blow HG's in an unusual place which a compression test etc does not show.

A sniff test is done BEFORE removing the rad cap, using a mot exhaust gas probe to immediately put into the air space in the tank, it does NOT come into contact with water/coolant.
The test kits that detect the gasses by colour change have nothing to do with sniffing.
HG on these is very easy, might as well do belt/tensioner at same time.
