Help for poorly 1.8 endura TD 90hp
What a time to go wrong eh?
The patient.
51 focus Ghia estate, 95K miles, regularly serviced all filters, always been a great work horse.
Prob, just started to run rough, uneven idle (hunting), power is reduced, when warm it stalls on stopping, difficult to start when warm, under full power acceleration it has lost the turbo smoke trail.
Just a unhappy bunny.
So far gave it a thrash down't M1 to give it good warm through, no different.
Any ideas???????????????
Cheers
Paul

Here I am replying to my own post.
I have dicovered the problem, you guessed or you didn't.
The wife had put petrol in the tank instead of diesel.
Luckily the mix in the tank was around 50/50 so the car ran but not very well. As luck would would have it the tank was only half full, so on the suspicion of the faulty refill I filled the tank up with more diesel to dilute the petrol. It now seems to be running fine.

nar them engines will run a 50/50 mix and it wond damage anything, trust me i do this all the time. usually a 25/75 mix tho its not too bad at that. (only cus i get petrol diesel mix from work)
the lucky thing is tho that its not a tdci with common rail. the hp pump and injectors dont like petrol. my mondeo 1.8td endura has run on every thing in the past, parrafin, central heating oil, thinners, petrol, kerraseen, parts washer fluid from workred diesel(not on the road of course, bloody chip fat the lot. still going perfect at over 200000 miles. lol propper engines. just a bit slow. i think u have the advantage of direct injection tho
