Default Escort van heater smells like burning wood

Hi ive got a 2001 escort van, when i have the heaters on it smells like something is burning, smells like burning wood to me but could be something else, also the heater blowers are a little noisy sounds like the fan is catching somethingas its turning,
any ideas???? only just bought it ,

lift up your bonnet at the back under screen will be your heater blower fans encased in plasit cover
it sounds to me like you have a twig or some leafs catching the fans hense the smell and noise hope this helps

Mine does it on my fiesta did a service on it changed the carbon filter and leaves went down the vents lol its gone now blasted them for a bit

It's not a carbon filter but a pollen filter that filters the air before it gets ingested by the heater blower fan, a panel type affair much like a normal air filter, should be under the scuttle panel somewhere.

vary rare mines a 2001 and it dont as is said it will be leafs or a twig in the motor how can leafs on pollen filter cause grinding noise lol
