Default Gearbox and axle ratios.

Hi all. I am currently rebuiling a rover v8 to put in my mk3 ford cotina and was wondering what gearbox to use and if the atlas axle axle could handle the extra power being added to it. Thanks

I used to run the standard axle with a LSD fitted in my cossie turbo MkV Cortina. I never broke it with 280bhp.

Not sure what box you need to use

Thanks for getting back to me, thats some good news then was it the standard 2.8 lsd or an aftermarket one? Was it the t5 box you were using?

I think it was a Capri one but used the 3.44 ratio from a 2.3 V6 Cortina.

Yes i used the T5 Gearbox, you just have to cut around the gearbox hole a little bit for it to fit.

I've got a nice ZF4HP22/24 auto box already for rover V8, uses a BMW 850 tail end to convert to 2wd, was built by John Lovegrove of ATP transmissions, has all the performance upgrades, inc shift pack, high stall etc, if interested, pm me.
