Default Idling problem!!!

I've got a 97 1.8 16v Si, the problem is it keeps near dyin on me when i come to stop!! The needle drops below 1 then comes back to live, it doesn't completely stall..yet!! It also does the same if you just tap the accelerator a wee bit!!

I've been told its the idle speed control valve and it just needs cleaned, is this right? And whereabouts is it situated? I'm told its just below the manifold???

Any help would be grateful!!
Cheers Kev

Thats correct mate.. But some types of idle speed control valves you cannot service. You would have to refer to a haynes manual or ford. I would just simply get another one out of the scrappies. For all the cost!!
