Hi people over the last couple of days my car keeps popping about when on the gas and the rev counter goes rather nuts to at the same time any ideas as its getting rather bad now but its not all the time still boosts up ect

Could well be the ignition amp, could even be the rev counter causing it, but something is affecting the ignition side of things.

well thats it its dead now will start some times but the revs are all over the place and keeps popping and banging like there is a item breaking down dizzy ? coil? sumthing else any ideas people

I had this car kept back firing, rev counter would just drop to zero. I changed my dizzy and that fixed it

did yours fully die on side of the road and maybe start and maybe not ? as mine can be ticking over fine then out the blue will just die like you have taken power away from coil, It dont misfire or anything like that just cuts out and pop's and bangs due to the spark coming back and the unburnt fuel also some times when the car gets switched of about 5sec's later you will get a bang out the exhaust (unburnt fuel?)
