Hi im currently restoring my mk3 escort rs 1600i,im putting a zetec engine in it,am i correct in thinking that a standard rsturbo gaearbox will bolt straight onto the zetec engine,so the gearrbox side mounts will remain the same?will i need to manufacture a zetec to mk3 engine mount or is there a far easier method?id realy appreciate your help as this is my main hold up.

 

weld a piece of bar onto the drivers side wing and drill it to accept the Zetec mount

 

the cvh mounts bolt onto the block of the zetec, should be three bolts but only two line up, this is no problem. The gearbox bolts onto the block also, so no problem there, only problem you might have is the 2 litre flywheel doesnt fit inside your box and you will have to use a 1.8 item. hope this helps
