Default Orion Gearbox/Engine Probs!?

Just replaced the engine in my mk2 orion and other than a few teething issues it now starts and runs well...

Altho out on the road and driving it, its fine under load but when you let off the throttle the whole car feels like im driving over speed bumps (making a bump bump bump noise in the car also) There is nothing rubbing and the wheels are all balance/not buckled.

I had to swing the gearbox around abit in the bay to get the engine into place, im wondering if maybe ive damaged something inside the box?

Any advice/suggestions welcome - Cheers!

That could make sense as the shafts were pulled around and upset from there positions to get the engine in...

Maybe il try the shafts before i try the gbox, then!

when i swapped my lump in my old mk4, i left the box in and tilted it to get new lump in, when fitted i had exactly the same symtoms until the cv broke on the long shaft gearbox end. when tilted the shaft must have came out slightly and bent when going back in, it didnt last long tho, once the new shaft was fitted it was perfect. could be ur problem!!

Sounds about right m8 as that cv gaitor took a beating and the shaft popped 1/2 out on that side as i was refitting the engine - wouldve been easier to take the box out looking back, but retrospect is a lovely thing!

Anyway, so yours was like driving over a series of small speed bumps when off-throttle? If so thats sounds just like mine, so il give that a go before i change the box!
