Hello I'm a first time user.
I have a 2003 Mondeo 2.0 Tdci and I need to change the altenator belt. Can anyone help me out with advice and or pics as to how to change it.
Thanks
Liam

Has it got an alternater belt??
or is it a drive belt that does everything?.
If I remember correctly you'll have to take the drivers side front wheel off and possibly take out the wheel arch liner to make it easier.
I would'nt bother for the hassle, buy the belt of your choice and drop it off at an MOT place.......

1) Get the car up
2) Remove the RH wheel
3) Support the engine at the sump with a jack
4) Remove the RH engine mount
5) Compress the belt tensioner (works best with ford special tool)
6) Put the belt aside
7) Remove tensioner and completely remove the belt (might want to replace this and the crankshaft pulley , because they do wear rapidly. (a lot of engine rattle))
8) Place the new belt
9) Put everything back together
Tip:
- If you tilt the engine forward and jack it up, the allen key bolt of the tensioner is easy accessible
- If you want to remove all the rattle from the engine (presuming your 2-mass flywheel is ok). Replace the pulley and tensioner as said before. And replace the alternator pulley with one that runs freely in one direction (not a fixed one).
Hope this helps.
