Default mot question..

what does a car need to pass an mot. im building a track car but want to complete the light circuit in case i want to take on the road in the future. It's all solid and all new bushes/suspension so its fine there. do you need a handbrake light on the dash to show that the handbrake is on ? anything i've missed?
thanks in advance

you need tell tail lights for indicators and hazards, rear fog tell tail, high beam tell tail is only a advisory not a fall so not needed but i'd have one, if the car has abs needs a light for that but thats about it iirc hand brake light is not needed.

Im a tester so I could answer your question, but your question's answer could go on for a bit

Easiest way is for you to look at the inspection manual your self.....try vosa's own site or www.motuk.co.uk

I'm not sure about the handbrake light, but you don't need any actual lights on the car so can't see that you'd need a rear fog warning light.
Just get a daylight mot, easiest way if that suits, ie you don't need to drive in the dark.
