all the fuses ok? has it got a good earth connection? is there any junction boxes in the loom that could have a dirty connection
Id start with looking at the connections inside the engine bay (battery/starter/alternator)

I'd start by checking for a output from the ignition switch when turned to position 2(run), if this is missing you will get no dash lights, or ecu power up hence no start, obviously you are getting power to the ignition switch as the starter works, if no output on position 2 from any wire, which is likely to be plain black, as that is a switched LIVE feed on fords of this era, then that would be your first problem, if outputting in position 2 I would check the wiring cut used on the cliffy alarms immobliliser, maybe even temporarily by passing the immobiliser if all is then well it's either a duff joint or alarm/immoby, from your description though more likely a dodgy joint connection, could be cliffy or the iggy switch.
