I use Hylomar Blue sealant and the gaskets with metal middles as they don't 'push' out when torquing down the cam cover bolts.

just use sealent around the part where the rubber half moon seals go, it isnt neccesary to use it on the whole gasket.
i use hylomar blue as well

What gasket you using ?, try a cometic one, and as said a little sealant around the ends of the cap seals, the ones with the metal spacers are for people that overtighten a alloy cover expecting it not to distort.

Over tightening certainly won't help!

I disagree Tabetha (although i do agree that people over tighten in the hope that it will seal better). I use the metals as they have better torque retention and have not had any leaks from any i have fitted to date. Previously i have fecked around with other gaskets and always seemed to end up leaking. Personal preference i suppose.

Hope it's sorted now Guth.

Cheers, Chris
