Default Smoking cossie Ahhhhh !

Have just noticed my cossie has started to smoke a little (never used to ) if i give it a bit of stick then come off throttle it blue smokes when you throttle down again only for a second or so but quite a big puff, suspect its blow by but not sure. checked the turbo for play, slight side to side but no play back & foward (standard t3 running 21psi). I know from previous shagged cossie motors that they have pumped oil in the airbox when they were really knackered, my airbox is as dry as a bone. Anyone know how to tell if its the turbo or engine, maybe i'm expecting to much & they all smoke a bit ? It doesn't smoke if you dont kane the shit out of it though. Would a breather kit make any difference.

Cheers Simon

Have you checked the oil level? Is it burning oil? Maybe you've just topped it up with oil and overfilled it? The turbo might be on its way out or maybe your car is running rich with petrol and thats what your seeing as smoke? Just to confuse you even more eh.

The oil level is fine & doesn't use much either. Seems to be using a lot of petrol lately though ! Still runs & starts perfectly & doesn't smoke with normal driving ( put it this way if my missus drove it it wouldn't smoke), only smokes when you put the throttle back down after giving it some stick, i'm sure it doesn't matter but it makes it look like a shitter when someones behind you !!!!!!!!!!! the joys of cossie ownership. Can kane the shit out of my M3 all day long & it would never smoke even with 119000 miles on the clock !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cheers Simon.

a M3 has got no turbo nor 150+ BHP per liter mate, hence why it surely smokes less

I haven't done a compression test since i bought it a year ago, its something i could check again. it smoked slightly when i bought it but had the head overhauled & it cured it a year ago.

Cheers Simon.

I think your car is running rich mate.Thats why it smokes when you come off the throttle.you really want to get the car set up with an expert. My esc cos does that a bit and shoots flames out when im driving hard.

Could it be anything to do with having the cam followers renewed, had them renewed last week & really only noticed it since then, unless i just didn't notice it before.
