I have a 06 Focus st and the ESP light is on. plugged a fault reader on and it came up with the code C1288. I looked on the internet for the code and found that it is the pressure transducer main primary circuit failed ( not sure what this is). So im wondering has anyone come across this fault before and how do i go about fixing it? (which im hoping to do myself)

Check the connection on the steering column as these have electric power steering.

I would normally expect that code to mean something like the Steering Sensor Circuit has malfunctioned.

If the steering sensor malfunctions, the ESP cannot work out what the steering angle is to allow for compensation when the system is required.
