Default rs turbo main beam not working

i have just about finished my escort rs project and its booked in for
its mot tomorrow, and i cant get the main beam to work.
side lights, and dipped beam work fine but as soon as you flick
the switch for main beam it cuts the lights out and starts to melt a brown
and yellow wire next to the switch....
any help would be great
thanks

Chedck you have the correct wattage headlight bulbs ie 60/55 H4, then do a resistance/continuity check as it may have a short on a live to the main beam, other than that the switches always burn out on these, the main light switch that is they are a bit shit.
