hello,could someone tell me what bar boost i should be running with a stage one chip.at the moment if i accelerate quite hard in 3rd gear[it happens in other gears as well]with the revs low as the revs rise and the boost tries to come in the car backfires and pops and doesnt accelerate,it pops and spluters for a bit and then clears and the boost cuts in,could this be too much boost?i think its set at about 1.5 bar.

1.5 bar is 22 psi which is far to high for a stage one car, should be 16-18psi depending on the chip

about 1 bar peak(15psi) dropping back to about 14 psi on std injectors.

If it still happens after you have turned boost down, look at your spark plugs, they may need changing. I found that I could accelerate gently all the way with mine, but if I gave it stick it would cough, splutter and pop. Got some NGK 9's, problem gone.
