Hi, my xr2i zetec has developed really stiff 'lumpy' steering, bordering on dangerous. The problem first came up after the car was laid up for a while, then went away but came back today really bad! What could it be? I was presuming the steering rack or perhaps steering column bushes but has anyone else had a similar problem before I start taking it to bits? It's a K reg with manual rack. Thanks

 

if not the rack check the track rod ends aint seized
