cosworth over-run smoke, STILL !!!
i realy need help! iv just had my valve guides (bronze) and stem seals done in my 200 block stage 3 sapphire, due 2 reek on over-run! and its still doing it!!! i just dnt know what to do next. i bought the car cuple of year ago and i noticed it done it from day 1. due to another miss-hap,the full bottom end got re-built. bored out, 0.5 oversize pistons and all the usual. now the heads been re-built aswell and the car still does it! no worse and no better.the reek is blue, kinda hard to tell tho. it only does it when going down hill and accelerating again at bottom it reeks 4 a cuple of secs then goes away and its perfect! its minted all the way up the gears, only does it as i say, when putting foot down again after a hill. but if i put it out of gear when going down hill and back in gear at bottom, its ok! its like sum sort of breathing problem,iv briefly checked them and seem ok.but i think il check again.. PLEASE HELP i love this car but this problem is realy starting to put me off it which is a shame thanx...

I would use at least a 50 weight oil, if not 60, if it's blue it shows it has been burnt, so won't have come down exhaust stems, make sure all the breather stuff is clear, that it's not running rich, then try a thicker oil.

No disrespect to anyone that's already contributed, but recently I thought I had a fuel pressure/delivery problem that turned out to be a combination of electrical faults, ruined exhaust valves (one had a hole!), ruined exhaust valve seats, and a poorly refurbished head. I'd never have found those on my own or even with help from well-meaning forum users saying "check this, check that".
I learned that the best thing to do is instead of everyone playing guessing games and wasting time not identifying the problem, take it to a Cosworth expert, or at least ring one for advice. You'll not get to the bottom of it otherwise. It could be something major that you can't see, and won't find out about until it goes bang, or it could equally be something minor that an expert can spot and maybe solve in 5 minutes, but you won't find because you're looking for a splinter in a forest.
Hope this helps.
