Hi folks, Recently purchased one of MSD wasted spark kits for my Escos, like an idiot i didnt check the ecu in my car first, Turns out my ECU is P8?

On the board which has the chip on, it has Pectel Super P8 on it, as the instructions with the kit state L8 etc, i obviously didnt try to fit it. Does anyone know if you can, if not how do i coil pack my car, using this ecu?

Also whats the difference between L8 and P8? which is best?

Escort doesn't have L8, that's a Sierra 4x4 ecu.

A P8 has a little bit faster ecu and it is easier to find software for it that has wasted spark.

Dont suppose you know if the MSD kit will work with the P8 do you? I didnt realise L8 was Sierra only, as when recently spoken to various tuners, they have asked if its running L8 or P8?

Just checked the ECu pics at http://www.bigturbo.co.uk/main1.htm, mines definatly P8, the baby board in mine is different though, its alot longer, and has an output on the end which connects to my Pectel monitor, i also have a fly lead in the car which looks like a date lead for PC connection?
