car keeps cutting out
hi every1 im new here i hav a mk3 cabby that has an s1 turbo engine in it basically when i bought it it wasn,t sparking so i wired in an xr3 dizzy and now it sparks but when i start it its runs for 3-5 secs and dies yesterday i held the key to keep it running then after a good few attempts it ran itself.i also noticed after it heated up it started to overfuel and i noticed it was overheating so i took the thermostat housing off to find no thermostat,i was told if there is no thermostat the temp sender will not be wrking rite and it'l make it overfuel.i disconnected the cold start valve 2 see if it wud strt without it but it wont fire but when i connect it it does for the 3-5 secs any ideas??maybe faulty cold start valve.im really pickled with the bugger so any replies wud be much appreciated cheers

The fact that yours starts with idle valve and doesn't with it disconnected shows the valve to be functional, it will start without it but for cold starts you need to compensate by using throttle for a moment though. Can you keep the car going by using throttle, if so it shows the base idle is to low.
Do the revs drop then it stops? Normally they jam open and you have the opposite a high idle and that's why you need to clean and lube them.

CO as in the exhaust content shown as a percentage, if this is wrong it will throw everything off the scale, you need an exhuast gas analyzer but as you most likely along with most won't have only option is to take it into MOT station and get it checked, they may even charge a small fee if mean!
