No, i've never swapped anything with an immobiliser before; bit of a learning curve!! There seems to be no spark or fuel or anything. It turns over but thats it... Immobiliser, what do i need off the donor car??

If it is an immobiliser issue with a chipped key used on the car from which the ecu came, then it won't work without the correct key being recognised, they do usually turn over but no sparks and no fuelling.
It may be this, need to look at key on other car, or for a ring around the ignition switch used for detecting the code of the key where used.
If not this it may be just something you've missed connection wise.

right, had another look today. Don't think its an immobiliser issue now. Definitely getting fuel, but not even a sign of a spark. All connections are okay, checked and double checked and triple checked... It appears that the wiring might be different. I've put a p reg engine into a t reg car, it would appear the only thing left to do is to swap the loom, this looks a bit of a nightmare. Am i missing something obvious?? Anybody got any insight on changing the loom..
