i've just bought a 2004 mondeo tdci zetec s and its got a few problems;

1. engine bangs/rattles loud when starting the engine and excelerating at low revs but not when i press the clutch down?

2. think thermostat is f*** as the temp gauge doesn't go above 60 and the coolant in the header tank is always flat cold but there is heat coming out the vents in the car?

3. cruise control not working, i'm thinking it could be a sensor on the clutch or something along those lines?

1/ sound like dual mass flywheel, 2/ yes suspect thermostat 3/ C-C could be many things, needs a diagnostic to see if there's any codes in there.
