Default boost prob, esc rsturbo

hi all, i have a boost problem. recently had a new turbo unit on my series 2. it was working fine. all of a sudden it stopped boosting. itl boost very little in 3rd and 4th cos of the biigger gears but 1st and 2nd see no boost at all. i have checked all hoses, i have also bipassedthe amal valve by jus having the hose straight from turbo side to actuator and stil nothing. its as if the actuator isnt opening. also have fitted a new actuator. any thoughts??
cheers all

The actuator only "opens" when the pressure overcomes the strengh of the actuator has and then it opens the wastegate, the rest of the time it keeps the wategate closed. Was your turbo recon or used?

If your amal valve faulty it would have the same effect as what you have done now by bridging the compressor and actuator.

Also if you fitted the actuator did you preload it first?

turbo was a recon unit from midland turbo. was working fine. pre-load the actuator??? ..no i just wound the arm so it sat on the wastegate arm with no pressure, is that correct?

as for the amal valve, how can i check if it is faulty? cheers

to do a basic preload disconnect the actuator rod,,, hold the wategate lever in the closed postition.. then in this position adjust the actuator rod so that its half a hole short of being able to push it on to the wastegate lever. then phyically pull the actuator rod on to the wastegate lever and lock it up.
see how you get on.....

Amal should click when ignition turned on, if it is faulty it will not bleed off boost and so will be closed and send all boost straight to actuator which is why I said it's effectivly doing the same thing as what you have done now, but this won't be your problem as you are not making boost at all which will be something to do with turbo.

I guess the compressor to intercooler hose hasen't split?
