Switched by an ecu:
30 - Battery
86 - +12 when ignition on
85 - switched earth to ecu
87 - fuel pump
Drawing for a weber-marelli ecu here: http://www.siipicossu.com/manuaaleja...ediagramL1.pdf

Operated by a switch on the dash:
30 - Battery
86 - +12 when ignition on
85 - switched earth to switch to earth
87 - fuel pump
Or
30 - Battery
86 - +12 from switch
85 - earth
87 - fuel pump

Yes, 87 is the power supply to the pump. Earth for pump can be connected anywhere in the car. This is assuming the ecu will be switching the earth, which is very common for ecu's.

so

30 : Battery
86 : +12 switched ignition
85 - switched earth to ecu
87 - + fuel pump

- fuel pump to chasis

that it?

Yes, but you may want to add a fuse between the battery and pin 30.

Usually between terminal 87 and the fuel pump.
But it also works when added to any of the other 3 connections.
Your choice.
