Question escort van electrics, central locking and electric window loom problem

i fitted an electric window loom to my escort van a while ago and after fitting the fuse box out of the car i took the loom from, all the electrics died in the van, i mean nothing worked at all! the clock didnt even work so i refitted the old fuse box so i could still use the van. strangley though the heater fan was blowing at full speed even with the fan speed controller plugged in and un-plugged!

i have now bought an escort gti to break and have remove the central locking and electric window loom out of this to fit into the van, the loom is now fitted and im still stuck with the same problem of no electrics

i am now well and truly stumped! the vans in bits apart from the drivers seats, steering wheel and dials. im still running the original fuse box with the gti loom plugged into it.

ive also tried using the dash wiring loom out of the gti with the gti fuse box and still joy. also changing back to the van fuse box and it wont start.

so in short ive got a full electric window and central locking kit in my van and it wont bloody work

can anyone help?

i know this thread is creaping on "how to's" on electric window fitting but has anyone had this problem before?

the van's a '97 and the gti's a '98.

ive tried the electric window fuse in the vans fuse box and it still didnt work!

i just cant get my head around that i cant use any fuse box on the van?!

it would have been nice to use the dash loom aswell so i could wire in fog lights

im now well and truly fooked off now.

the entire loom is fitted in aswell as the window motors, central locking sensors and central locking motors but i cant the bloody things to work.

ive tried fuses in every carrier in the standard van fuse box aswell as trying relays in all the empty sockets. i know that some fuse boxes are different than others and that there are some that dont have the carriers inside them.

ive got a standard van 'box thats currently fitted, a 5 door gti 'box, a ghia hatchback 'box plus another that i dont the origin.

using any fuse box than the standard one just kills the electrics in the van apart from the heater blower on full belt.

ive used 2 different looms so far, one with central locking, one without and the electric windows still dont work. with the elc, windows/central locking loom ive even used the central locking controller that goes in the passenger footwell

can anyone PLEASE help as im going to end up spitting my dummy out, ripping it all out again and stick ing the manual windows back in.

once i know what needs to be done im gonna do a "how to" with pics on the fitting to help anyone else with the same problem

hi buddy, im still using the standars 1.8td engine and its original fuse box. iv been on a couple of other forums and others have said to use a fuse box out of a escort td ghia or something of a simalar spec. ive tried using a fuse box from the gti and a petrol ghia

ive been round the van loads of times with a volt meter, yet to try powering up the central locking and electric windows directly (direct to a 12v feed) but i need some wiring diagrams. im just really busy at the minute and would like to go straight to getting them working as apose to try this... try that... try the other!!!

ill even pay someone to do it!
