Default mfi engine, rev gauge help.

After a bit of investigating i noticed on my cossie rep that there is no wiring to the back of the rev gauge in the car, should there be three wires off the coil hooking up to the rev gauge?

Where else can i take a reading for the rev's as i might just buy a stand alone rev gauge i just want something that will give me a readout!

cheers.

If you have a(std ford) rev counter fitted then it indeed needs three things, live earth and signal,(a negative from the coil negative), if there is no terminals just get another connector and prise then out and use these.
If the pcb on the rear of the clocks is missing the relavant tracks, then you need one with the tracks in it first.
I'm surprised it's not plug and play.

well basically the auto elec that looked over my car said it appears to never have been wired up since the mfi engine was put in as there is nothing from the coil to the back of the rev counter and you need three wires from the coil and there only seems to be two.

You just need to add a wire from the negative of the coil to the rear of the rev counter, these are usually coloured light green on fords.
