following on from my other thread:

i have done a rs2000 engine conversion into my mk5 (was a 1.6 cvh)

now i want to remove the PATS but am informed its rather difficult to do.

now, are the mk5 and mk6 rs2000 looms the same (as in i know they have their differences but can i use a mk5 loom on a mk6 engine?)

does the mk5 rs2000 have PATS? and does it matter the mk6 engine has the plugs for ABS and aircon, as im not connecting them up as i dont wish to use them.

also just for my info: can i use a mk5 loom AND mk5 ecu on the mk6 engine? or is the ECU specific to its engine?


so to summarise: can i use a mk5 rs2000 loom and ecu on a mk6 rs2000 engine so i dont have to have PATS

yes mk5 and 6 looms are different yes you can run it without PAS ABS etc plugs connected. and yes you can run a mk6 engine on mk5 loom and ecu the engines and sensor plugs are all the same, i have done this on my mk4 as i stupidly left the keys in the mk6 i broke by mistake and by the time i called my mate who was weighing it in it had been crushed doh!!
