Hi there, first post an all...


So I have a 06 Focus ST 225, now not sure if this is a coincidence but after I had some cheap non run flat tyres fitted ( long story, lets just dam dirty roads with nails on them) and needed them to pass MOT.


When accelerating hard the car gets to a point and power drops off, speed is maintained but just cannot accelerate, at this point pressing the accelerator further down the boost goes all the way to 1.2, but revs stay as they were.


Example. So driving normally at 45 – 50 in third, floor the accelerator car will accelerate up to around 65 ish the power delivery just stops rev's do not increase and turbo goes all the way to 1.2 bar! Changing up a gear has no effect.


At fist I though that the engine management was cutting in as tyres are crap and detecting that tyres are too soft or something. Traction control light is not coming on so its no where near its limit


Not sure what's going on really. Has anyone got any ideas

Sounds more like fuel starvation.

yes its fuel starvation the new rs is worse for it when u go under a 1/4 of a tank

hey guys,

never though of that tbh, when it first happened the tank was just over a 1 / 4, just taken for a blast, seems to be ok now, although turbo needle does not go much over the fist bar on the graph now, think that's normal not really noticed before how far it goes. The 50 miles left limit has just appeared car seemed to be ok...

is this an intermittent issue with the fuel below \ at 1 \ 4 full
