Is it sparking?

If its been stood for a year I would probably change the plugs and leads, or give them a good clean.

Could be fuel pump on its way out. my old focus used to do that, would start fine, then wouldnt start at all, finally got it going and it would be fine for a few days, then nothing again.

New fuel pump fixed it!
