Default rs turbo valve problem running crap help!

hi guys had my rs turbo rolling roaded today, it has been running shit for ages like its on 3 cylinders the guy at the tuning centre said he thought it was valve related so i went home ripped the head off and the exhaust valves were carboned up pretty bad around the seats etc has anyone encountered this b4. im regrinding them tonight complete with box of miller, a bit pissed off as im £100 quid down for the tune and £30 down on fuel for getting there ,cheers matty

running too rich for too long i'd suspect.
best to get the seat re-cut and then lap the valves back in, would only cost around £20 for the seats to be sorted.

I wouldn't have been so quick to rip the head off, would have done a compy check first.
But as head is now off, just take to someone who has a SERDI seat cutter if you think it is the seats at fault, there is no need to lap the seats after, they are that good!!

had a compression check its was only 100 spi should be at least 150 andvanced the timing a bit got it up to 130 still not enough the valves are really bad im just hoping this was the cause the tuner seem to think so bores and piston are in really good nick so fingers crossed

Can advancing the timing actually make a difference to the compression? Because really you havent changed anything to do with compression. unless it had some fuel or oil in it maybe causing the compression to go up a little
