AS above but first try a heavy grade GEAR OIL, not the ATF crap, as this will help the synchro's no end, try applying gentle pressure blip the throttle on change down and you will be able to catch it as it slows.

i had the same problem on the same gear and it was the baulk ring - either way; it ideally needs rebuilding

75w90; but its thicker than atf so from cold gear changes will be harder/ more difficult until the oil warms up

some use gear oil rather than atf if the box is worn

75W90 is what I use, as said a bit clunky for the first 1/2 mile or so, but as it's not as slippery as ATF it helps the synchro's, although my 160,000+ miles box has now totally demolished 3rd gear rings!!

Thanks for the replys

I'll stick some 75W90 in

Also, my Dad's going to check the clutch (he thinks its "dragging")

Probably get him to put the 75W90 in..... save's me getting my hands mucky

It may have overadjusted and be dragging, just slacken the adjuster off at the pedal and it will readjust.
To do this lift the clutch pedal, then with your thumb/finger on other hand push the quadrant at the top of the pedal forwards so it slackens the cable, let go pump a few times and it will readjust.
I've found with cossie clutches you can't do a lazy change and do need to use every last mm of pedal movement, found this out as my left leg is 1 1/2" shorter than my right and I need a block on there like on me pedals on first bike!!
