im just in the process of an engine rebuild on a frst the head has a piper cam 285t2 ive been told this is to harsh for what power im looking for
im looking for around 185ish any help would b good

With the spec i running (steel rods, wossner pistons for low comp on OFAB with 195 super chip) i have been told i need to run a Kent CVH35?

285t2 is good ive got 1 in mine. i just found piper springs abit weak, so got double valve springs. i was getting valve bounce. may of just been a dodgy set though..??

 

Whoever told you that is wrong.
The cvh cam is a "harsher" cam, being 276 degrees, inlet/exhaust, against 262 inlet, 270 exhaust of the T2, lift on both is almost identical, as a next step up from the T2 I would advise the cvh35.
