Who have done this, maybe can tell me if it's possible to change the bottom end bearrings without stripping the engine (which ones, or maybe all)? I mean from the bottom ( I remove sump and do everything from there). As I know nissan sr20det, etc. this can be done without problems. Thanks

Don't see why not, so long as crank dropped a touch when unbolted, can't remember the thrust bearing fitment, the upper one if captive would be a problem, but so long as all can be rotated don't see why not, not the way I'd do it, if it needed new shells I'd strip and examine the rest.

Yes mate its no different to any other engine all the bolts you need to undo are underneath so sump off and away you go, makes it alot easier if the engine is out thou!!! The other thing is why are you changing them?! as if changing them is it not worth doing the piston rings too?!

they don't need to be replaced (I believe) but the engine now has 60.000miles on it, so I am affraid, that the bearings can have wear marks... So better to replace with new, quality ones? Because if they will fail, I will have to ground crank, use oversized repair bearrings, etc.
Thanks for advices :S I really just planning to touch the isnide of my engine.
