I have a few problems
Right where do i start. My cars a 1.1 90 fiesta lx, its been of the road for just over a year but was driven every down till it was taken off.
The batteries dead flat so has to be jumped to get it started always with full choke. you have to build up the revs for a few mins before it will run in idle, and it will only run in idle on half choke. It smokes for a good ten mins every time its started( thick grey smoke ).
I changed the plugs and HT leads, Two weeks after the plugs were change they started to get covered in oil.
The pipe that goes between the air filter and rocker cover was filled with a yellow/cream gunk. I cleaned it out and change the air filter. Doesent seem any better or worse.
Anybody know why and how to fix these.??
Also when I go to buy the new battery I want one that will fit in but have more power to run a sound system, what battery should I get.?
Cheers for any help.

Sounds very gunged up, get it nice and hot and do a oil + filter change, with decent oil, clean out all pcv/breather pipes.
Certainly wouldn't hurt to strip and clean carb, leave all bits in thinners overnight if you can as this will disolve the gum and varnish.
As for battery, you could go fo a AGM, but will be Ł100 + easy, but beware, if it lists a CALCIUM battery as std fitment a calcium must go back in, otherwise charging system will cook a std lead/acid battery.

Should say on it, if not when you go to get a battery, just tell them age/model of car and they should have it listed, often the short code number eg 065 will have the letter C after it ie 065C, denoting calcium, these run a very slightly higher voltage charging system, which is far more refined than a std system, you can use a calcium in a older pre calcium car but not older battery in calcium car due to this, they are only slightly more money, but are much better.
