Default Clutch Dilemma Mk4 Fiesta Zetec Quick Reply Needed!!

Hi all, my clutch went on my mk 4 fiesta zetec yesterday, after a few weeks slipping, now i have th option to purchase a 2pc clutch kit for £49 or a 3pc, with concentric sleeve for £118, fitting is not the worry, but i dont really have the money to splash out for the concentric sleeve, will i be fine just replacinmg the two clutch plates? or is it a necessity to get the sleeve, cheers, Max

PS am in bristol if anyone knows a place that will sell these kits cheaper, seems a good price tohugh.

Im assuming so, the guy just said the 3pc was for the concentric sleeve, i dont really know much about clutches so im a bit baffled, dont want to buy the 3pc really unless its absolutly necessary

its a hydrolick relice bairing and they are common for leaking and contaminating the clutch hence they slip. ive changed a few clutches with this type of relice bairing and some ive checked the condition of the bairing and thort it was fine yet a few mounths down the line they have come back leaking.

so now i dont think twice about changing the bairing/hydrolick cilinder as the box has to come out to change it. and most of the time it will contaminate the clutch any how so you will end up fitting a new clutch agan

lol its realy not worth it mate on the clutches ive changed the bairing seems in near perfict condition so i thort why change it if its not broke? but then a few mounths down the line the car is back with a leaking releace bairing witch has killed the new clutch i have fitted, it seems as soon as you desterb them ie take the box out to change the clutch. its only a matter of time befor they start to leak. same gos for a second had one its just not worth the rick of killing a new clutch IMHO. it will end up costin g you mose in the long run

By the way, i know this probably sounds absolutly stupid to the mechanical- wise, but, does the release bearing have a seal to stop it leaking then? and could i wrap some PTFE tape around it o give it a tight fit?
