Turbo stages?

I have an ERST and im going to have the turbo rebuilt. Can someone tell me the difference is in the stage 1,2 and 3 please.

There's a bit of variation between suppliers so would be best to ring each.

A friend of mine is doing it for me. Im just wondering generally what the differences are? Is it mainly just the bearings and seals?
