Default Cossie engine leaking oil

Can anybody help please, got a small leak thats coming from the front on the engine behind the cam pully's and running down the block.Iv changed the half moons and the cam seals but still leaking it seem's to be coming from the metal bolt below the cam seals and the cam bearings seem abit nosiey,if the cam bearings wear do they leak oil ?? its putting oil on the belt and chucking it all over the engine bay. Can any one help?

have u tried taking the bolt out and having a look?! shouldnt be leaking from there as it isnt tapped deep enough unless someone has helicoiled it and gone to deep or something?!

PS did u put sealant on both ends of the cam seal?! if not it'll still leak out even with new half moons!!

Did you put sealant under the cam caps, otherwise they will leak from the join between cap and head and run down looking like it's the cam seals.
Did you use Viton seals as they are way better, but new ones should still last a while.

Agree with this. Mine was oozing oil out from behind the cam pulleys and all over the block. Did the cam gasket and half moons but when I lifted the front cam caps there was a lot of oil underneath so I added liquid gasket under them. It seems a lot better now.

Cheers lads, what do u mean by lifting the front cam caps? I didn't do the round cams seals behind the pulley's i got a local ford rally garage to do them.ITs not leaking from the seals itself but from the round metal surround that the seals are put in to, and running down on to the bolt,is this surround sealed by the cam bearings from the inside, as i said before the bearings sound a little louder. The cars going to msd this friday for a live map check but its a long drive from south wales with a little oil leak , my be get it look at then.CheeRS for your info. Take cam cover off and remove the 2 front cap caps held by either 4 m6 nuts or 4 m6 cap heads if 4x4 head

Where these meet the head clean and put some sealer there and refit cam caps

also put a bit either end of the half moon seals refit cover

Job done

Don't be tempted to overtighten, it doesn't stop leaks but can strip threads.
