Default gti oil pressure switch, Washer or no washer?

Hi, well here goes with my first post! So i'll make it an easy one, I need to change the oil pressure switch (leaking) on my Escort GTI, I already have the new one but when i got home noticed it has'nt got a copper washer on it? It's been a while but whenever i have changed them on my MK3's they always had a washer on? So my question is: Does the zetec need the washer or not? Thanks in advance.....

The switch will only need a washer if the thread is paralel. If it is slightly tapered then a small amount of thread sealant and and wind it in until it gets tight.

Pretty sure the zetec is tapered, so as said little bit of sealant screw in, not too tight though!!
