Default Alternator wiring. Need help please!

I have recently swapped the engine in my fiesta from a 1.25 to a 2ltr Zetec E (originally from a mondeo).
I have got the engine running however the alternator is not recharging the battery. The alternator from the old 1.25 had a 2pin plug and Joined the old loom. The alternator on the Mondeo engine however has a 3 pin plug and I am unsure how to connect it to the old fiesta loom or via the ECU I am now using (Independant Pectel T2). Can anyone tell me what each of the three pins is for on the Mondeo 2lt alternator? Then I would stand a chance at finding out how to wire it up correctly to the clocks in the dash and also to charge the battery etc. I cannot use the old 1.25 alternator as it is a different design and will not mount to the engine.

Any help greatly appreciated

Rob

In addition to make it clear. The alternator is already connected to the battery via the larger 10mm stud. The small plug socket has the three pins that I need to identify.

cheers

it's a Bosch BR1-3 14V. Do the older type mount the same way? if so Maybe I should try and swap it for a simpler, older one.

Thanks for any help.
