Default Turbo took a proper dump!

Not a tech query, just something I thought I would share...

I was messing around with my bleed valve today, and everything was going fine (apart from having what seems to be a 195 chip WITH a 15 psi boost limit...grrr) when WHOMP!!

White smoke everywhere, no boost.

Limped home and removed the turbo. Oil dripping everywhere from the exhaust housing...

Stripped down the turbo to find...

The exhaust turbine has ripped off the impellor shaft!!!! Lots of burnt oil / grit around the turbine etc.

Buggeration!

Guess I need another turbo now

I dunno lol.

I was hitting an indicated 15psi when the ignition kept cutting out to prevent damage.

I had previously had the bleed valve wound all the way out, and the actuator wound about 1/2 way. Boost kept hitting what seemed to be a boost limit at around 13/14 psi.

I wound the bleed valve back in all the way, then out again 2 turns. then this happened after accelerating hard from 50mph... lol.

I guess she needs setting up properly
