Default CVH EFI powered Westfield

Hello
Can anybody help me?
I have just converted my CVH powered Westfield SE from Carburettor to EFI, due to strict German environmental laws. Basically I have taken the complete engine, loom and control system from a donor XR2i car. Everything is now installed into position and the engine is running, however it is running very rich (CO2 = 2.3%) with all sensors connected. When I unplug the lambda sensor the engine runs better (in emergency limp home mode I guess). I have ordered a new Lambda Sensor but that will take a week or so to arrive.
Does anybody know if a faulty lambda sensor would command more fuel than the emergency mode?
Additionally I have a standard westfield Exhaust manifold fitted Which is a 4-2-1 set up therefore I have had to position the lambda sensor further away from the engine than the original fiesta set up.
Can the position of the lambda sensor also affect its efficiency?
Could the Map sensor also be responsible for the engine running to rich?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers
Paul

Both the lambda and map sensor can make it rich.
With the positioning I wouldn't worry, min eon my sapphy is by my gearbox, but works perfectly.
Most likely to be the lambda, so give that a go first, but also check all the pipes etc, particularly the map sensor pipe.

Thanks Tabetha

I will hopefully receive the Lambda in the next couple of days, fingers crossed that should fix it. I was also worried about the MAP Sensor as I have also had to relocate it. I have extended vacuum pipe by an extra 15 cm.

tabetha is right in what he is saying as ussual , but as you posted after he had replied that you had extended the map sensor vacuum tube are you sure this is not kinked or too soft for the vacuum that is being produced , had it in the past that when on high vacuum i.e. idle it will run rich as the map sensor is not getting to see full vac as the pipe collapses before it reaches it and so the engine management gets a little confused ?

I extended the vacuum pipe with flexible hose so that could be a contibuting factor. I will try using a solid hose. I'll let you kow the result.

As said defo needs to be VACUUM pipe, this has a thicker wall to resist sucking flat.

I've replaced the Lambda sensor and plumbed in the MAP sensor using vacuum pipe and the engine is still running the same. Super rich with the lambda connected and leaner (but still rich) with Lambda disconnected. I've also tried disconnecting the MAP Sensor and it is running the same. I' starting to think this a wiring or EEC issue. May have to bite the bullet and take it to one of the tuning Specialists in Berlin.
