My Rs Ive just bought is giving me the grief streak already when I drove her home she started backfiring bigtime when putting throttle down like it was only air in combustion. I filled with super unleaded and a bottle of fuel cleaner didni have any problems again. At home ive been putting super unleaded in but lately the car is bringing problem back this time being it backfires etc like no fuel but you turn car off and straight back on it runs fine Some times ive had to leave the car sitting and go back a few hours later as if it gassed up as it wont start after turning it off, like other night in middle of petrol station!! I filled her up went in paid come back out turning over nothing else, a sat for 4 hours still nout, dad came down put jump leads on her went no problem, we thought fuel pump, but now car is flashing battery light at 4000 revs and above am completely stumped any help would be muchly appreciated. I dont know if related or just coincidence maybe pump is sticking on and alternator just starting to go aswell. Cheers

 

I would check your charging rate, as DC motors like pumps are very voltage sensitive, as a first, recon alts are cheap enough or diy.
