Default bit of a silly question regarding baterys

basicaly if u put the wrong battery on the wrong car what would happen?would it burn the altinator out?

Generally, nothing at all bad would happen.

Batteries on modern cars (well the ones you are into anyway) are pretty much all the same other than just capacity.

i was planning on putin it into a renault 5 turbo..if i get one again

i think its on the books iv seen one i really like and iv always had a love for the 5sssssssss

i only asked this question because every car i seem to buy has a fooked battery and mine is brand new and cost 80bar lol

It depends on the age of the car, and whether it is meant to have a CALCIUM battery, if it is, then it will have a higher charge rate, and certainly 14.8 minimum, whereas on non calcium cars it will be regulated to 14.4 maximum, some calcium cars charge at 15.5 -16 volts.
There is no bother of course fitting a calcium battery on a car not equiuped new with one but must not put a normal non calcium battery on a car that orignially had a calcium one.
If you do it would just kill the battery, but R 5 is std non calcium.
