Default cossie brake sensing valve??????

Does a saph cossie have one?i was underneath the car tonight changing a rear caliper and i noticed it had a brake fluid leak from i THINK a brake load sensing valve?its located left hand rear on the single part of the brake pipe just before the junction of where it then splits (t-junction)of in to 2 pipes(LH and RH)cheers

There's no sensors like that on the Sierra ABS system except for fluid pressure (and level). The fluid sensors are all up front with the hydraulic unit.

The only thing I can think of is a one-way (non-return) valve, but if I remember right, it's a simple pipe from front to back, as all the fluid pressure regulation is taken care of up front by the hydraulic unit and valve block.

Hi thanks for the reply-now you have said it sounds and looks right to be that of a one way valve.its just in line with the brake pipe, probaly the size maybe abit longer than a clipper lighter.ill call ford up tomorrow and see if they will fax me sum diagrams

It is indeed a pressure reducing valve, it needs to be there in case the abs goes out due to a fault, otherwise looking at the brake pedal would have the car locking it's back wheels.

I'm pretty sure it's on mine, but don't take much notice unless I need to, will try to find out tomorrow.

The valve is V86BB-2M058-AA, part number 1637851, and it was £140.76p.
It is NLA unfortunately, I would look for a pattern part, failing that another rear disc sierra should do.
It may be possible to repair yours though, if it comes to it.
