Default problem on 99 fiesta

asking on behalf of a mate

I own a 99 Ford Fiesta and basically i have an intermittent fault which is freaking annoying. Basically when coming upto junctions the car will stall, some days it happens 2/3 times a journey other days it doesnt happen at all.

Now ive taken to it 3 garages, the last one was a Ford garage and no-one can seem to fix this.

I've had the follow parts changed/fixed:
Breather Hose
Idle Control Valve
Gear Sensor
Spark Plugs Checked
Battery Checked

CPS? Have you checked the clutch pedal switch as these can give trouble.

Kind regards,

Martin.

I would check the CO and also the switching speed of it, a duff lambda can still pass the test but be a slow switcher, also the speed sensor, in case that is not what you mean by gear sensor ?

Doesn't say what engine but if zetec 1250/1400 did a few pcm calibration updates back in the day for that problem. Guess Ford could have checked for that?
