you need to change the crown wheel on the lsd as it wont match up with the ratios of the xr2 box . i did this to my xr2 box worked fine . i have to say have rebuilt loads of these gearboxes and not had one break a 5th gear yet

Right a little update.......the lsd diff went straight in and meshed perfectly..they weren,t interchangable because the lsd diff was an 8 bolt fitment...and the xr2 a 6 bolt fit...so that leaves the question what box is the lsd from the i.d tag states

87 WT UA
F0G 8B 04B

ANY HELP would be greatly appprieciated thanks in advance....darren.

8 bolt lsd is a S2 RST and a 6 bolt lsd is a S1 RST iirc
