hi ive just put my amps in my new car and im getting interference from the engine and just a humming when the engines off. All the wires where in the car already, i spoke to the bloke who had the car and he had no probs. i think its something to do with the earths as it really rumbles when i muck about with them. any ideas? appreciate any help thanks

Had this problem in one of my old cars.
It turned out to be the power lead running too close to the alternater, re-routed it and interference stopped, job done.

what are the amps mounted on ie back of a sub/ or on the back of the back seat? mine was mounted on the back of the back seat, metal to metal and had interferance, now mounted on the back of my subs and it stopped

You can get an adaptor that plugs into your amp leads from your head unit that cuts down the interference. Had this problem on a mondeo.

Worth a try as it was only around Ł6 from unicar in leeds.

Cheers

noise supressors are pointless tehy just aid the problem not fix it...it could be that youre RCAs are run too close to power/earth wires...the alternator creates an AC voltage that is rectified to 12V DC this AC voltage can 'jump' across to speaker/rcas if run too closely
more than likely its a bad earth tho remove all of them and clean em up properly
it wont be the remote tahts impossible as long as you have 12V going down it there is no problem because it puts no audio signal in so it couldnt possible create noise

well its definatly the rca's as ive been to an audio specialist, we tried new rca's run over the top of the seats, everything. the bloke recons its the headunit as we put a different unit in and it works fine. I only bought my headunit couple of months back! damn Bass Junkies!
