HI, just been given a dash mount tacho. want to fit it in my escort (1.8 zetec) any body know how to wire one up? Very new at this.

Pin 4 on the ECU.

not sure on yours as it has electronic pack coil on my old calibra it was straight to the coil

If it isn't for the same type of ignition it will read wrong anyway, ie if meant for std coil it will not read right with coilpack, but if it has number of cylinder adjustment on it you may be able to use this to get it right.
