Focus heated windscreen not working on one side!?
Hi all,
I've got a problem with the drivers side heated front windscreen. From what I understand the heated windscreen is in two parts, left and right. Well, the right hand side is not working, which really is the side that I would like to have working being the side I look out of!
I am hoping this is going to be something simple like a fuse but am pretty hopeless when it comes to cars! I was told the fuses are located behind the glove box but but it turns out they are not and can't find the fuse box anywhere!!? I'm assuming it's in the drivers side but not sure where, although it was very dark when I looked so it probably is there! I was also told it could be a problem with a relay switch under the bonnet. I've checked the manual but nothing is said about fuses or relays for the heated windscreen so I dont know which one I am supposed to be looking for!!
Any ideas?
It's a 2002 Ford Focus mp3, 1.8 if that helps.
Thanks in advance!

the fuses for the heated window are located under the bonnet m8
its the black box in the top right hand corrner nxt to the strut
what each fuse does is printind inside the fuse box so itl be easy to find
hope this helps

Great stuff mate, found them fine. I'm still none the wiser though, There are two in there related to the heated windscreen (i think!). One is a larger grey square one and one is a thin smaller red one. I've pulled them both out and had a quick look at them but when you don't know what your looking for it's quite tricky! lol
I suppose the hard thing to work out is if both sides start working, how will I know unless there is ice on the windscreen!!? Think i might just go back to the de-icer!
Thanks

u will be able to feel theheat off the windscreen if its working or not...put your palm over the edge of the glass then move slowly across till ur hand is over the heater lines...take off the scuttle panel and check the connection (centre of the glass) and then check the earth inside the interior light.. we get them in work all the time with this problem..altho its normally the earlier focus that has this problem as they have 2 seperate connections for each side of the screen. i have done a few at work tho where the heater lines seem to just stop working..various reasons for this

u can test the screen with a meter to see if its working ok....iirc the bottom connector under the scuttle is two metal strips 1 for each side...check to see if 1 hasnt torn off as they are very flimsy
