I'm Changing the head gasket on my saph to a Grp A version because the old one has blown.

What i Need to know is will i have to get the head skimmed because it didn't overheat when it blew.

you will need to check when its off, get a straight edge on it, if its bady pitted or warped, you may well need to have it done.

As long as they dont fuck the head and block like it did to mine as there was a fault with them

Yes you will need the head skimming, for the sake of it while its off

tiff is still bitter but at least they did agree that it was actually faulty. how many (in comparison) of std ones have gone pop again after only a few days of driving?

Recently changed my head gasket, as the previous leaked water to the outside under boost (stage 3)I did not get it re-skimmed either i checked it with a straight edge, all is ok.

Rule of thumb is that you should skim as a matter of course to be 100%, the choice is yours.Al.

I would say if it dont need skimming then dont do it as you will soon overskim a cossie head , just get it checked properly to make sure it has a flat surface and no cracks
